EOEAN Conducts Assessment of Sustainable Aroma Trip Project (May 2025)
The Essential Oil Entrepreneur Association of Nepal (EOEAN) has successfully completed a comprehensive assessment of the Sustainable Aroma Trip project organized jointly by Annapurna Aroma, held in May 10-14 2025.
This unique initiative showcased sustainable harvesting and biodiversity conservation practices across remote Himalayan regions where valuable aromatic plants such as Spikenard (Nardostachys jatamansi), Wintergreen, Rhododendron, and Himalayan Silver Fir are wildcrafted and cultivated.

During the Aroma Trip, international buyers, researchers, and aroma professionals visited community forests and distillation units, engaging directly with farmers, collectors, and women-led cooperatives. The project promotes transparency, traceability, and social inclusion within Nepal’s essential oil supply chain.

EOEAN’s assessment team evaluated the environmental impact, socio-economic benefits, and operational effectiveness of the trip. Key findings include a 12% increase in forest density in protected areas, a 20–25% seasonal income rise among participating households, and enhanced community engagement in sustainable forest management.
The detailed assessment report is being finalized and will be made available soon on this website for the benefit of all stakeholders and the broader essential oil industry.
EOEAN remains committed to supporting projects that advance sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible essential oil production in Nepal.
